Red light! In Washington State, RCW 46.61.055 sets forth the elements of a red light ticket. If you enter the intersection after the light turns red, you can be ticketed. You can enter as long as the light is yellow.

In Oregon, ORS 811.260 and 811.265 set out the elements of red and yellow light tickets. In Oregon, you are required to stop at a yellow light unless it is unsafe to do so. Red and yellow light tickets in Oregon are both Class B violations (ranked A-D in terms of severity and fine).
